The
practice of tikkun olam – repairing the world
– through social action is one way to perform
tzedakah. Donating to MAZON, and thus feeding the
hungry, helps build a more perfect world by promoting
self-sufficiency and strengthening the bonds of
human community.
Herbert Berger was a lifelong progressive who passed
away in March 2004 after a long illness. He supported
MAZON as his favorite charity. He always believed
that by donating to MAZON, one could do one's part
in "repairing the world." In addition
to his commitment to tzedakah, Herb was a pioneer
in the environmental field, working his entire career
for an organization dedicated to air and water quality.
He was also a devoted husband and father who lived
a strong, committed Jewish life.
Join Herb's family and friends in supporting MAZON
through the Herbert Berger Memorial Fund, and continue
the good works that characterized his long life.
