Partner Your Synagogue with Us
|
 |
At
its founding in 1985, MAZON recognized that rabbis,
cantors, educators and social action committees
could play a leading role in educating synagogue
members about the Jewish tradition of tzedakah and
the need for effective hunger relief through MAZON.
Over time, MAZON has forged strong partnerships
with the organized Jewish community and its constituent
synagogues. Over 850 congregations nationwide have
embraced the MAZON concept and formally voted to
become "MAZON partner synagogues."
Becoming a MAZON partner is easy. It starts with
a first step, a firm commitment to prioritizing
charity – and social justice – as central
elements of a Jewish life. Partner synagogues incorporate
MAZON as a regular, indispensable part of synagogue
activity, hosting such events as symbolic check presentations, in which MAZON and local synagogues partner to acknowledge the work done by outstanding MAZON grantees throughout the country.
