Letter of Inquiry Information

Organizations interested in applying to MAZON for funding must submit a letter of inquiry, which can be sent via regular mail or electronically by completing our online Letter of Inquiry. (Note: If your organization chooses to mail a hard copy Letter of Inquiry, it should be 1-2 pages, appear on your organization’s letterhead, and be addressed specifically to the Grants Department at MAZON’s Los Angeles office.)

The letter of inquiry must include a description of the agency and/or the project for which funding is sought, and it is stongly recommended that you dedicate at least one paragraph of your letter to describing the organization’s current anti-hunger advocacy and education efforts.

Submission windows for the Letter of Inquiry are:

** September 1-November 1 for the Spring Grant Cycle **
** March 1-May 1 for the Fall Grant Cycle **

MAZON will contact organizations regarding the status of their letter of inquiry by December 31 (for spring) or June 30 (for fall). Organizations that have been invited to apply will receive information on how to access MAZON’s online grant application. Organizations that do not receive an invitation to submit a full application will also be notified.

Please do not telephone regarding the status of your letter.

Follow the links below to our eligibility assessment page. The results will help you make an informed decision about whether or not to submit an inquiry. This step just takes a minute.
